Wrest Point is proud to be taking part in 2016 Lunar New Year celebrations in support of the wonderful contribution of the growing local Chinese community in Hobart.

Learn more about the Year of the Monkey and participate in activities and event set to take place during Lunar New Year celebrations.

Wrest Point will be decorating the property with a beautiful assortment of lanterns and traditional Chinese adornments in celebration of the Lunar New Year. As part of the festivities, Wrest Point will be lighting the Tower red in celebration of the Year of the Monkey.

Tai Chi

2016 Lunar New Year Festival

A family friendly festival to celebrate the New Year with lion dances, fire crackers, traditional instruments, festival foods and cooking demonstrations, dragon boat display and much more.
