Point Revolving Restaurant
The Point Revolving Restaurant
As of Sunday 21st May 2017 Hobart’s first fine-dining and only revolving restaurant will be undergoing a restorative transformation and will be closed until a sparkling re-opening later in the year.
Opened in February 1973 as part of Australia’s first casino, The Point revolving restaurant sits atop the iconic Wrest Point tower, seventeen floors above the River Derwent.
For over 40 years The Point has welcomed many thousands of visitors, all impressed by the stunning 360-degree views of Hobart, the exceptional service and highly-rated cuisine.
A place for special occasions in the hearts of many Hobartians, The Point is a much-loved venue for family celebrations, countless anniversaries and romantic proposals.
Reliable and discreet, for decades The Point has been a favoured venue for entertaining guests, from business colleagues to celebrities.
Interstate and overseas visitors are awed by the ever-changing view that slowly unfolds through the floor-to-ceiling windows, and everybody is delighted and entertained when diners choose dishes that are finished and served from the special waiter’s trolleys as part of the Gueridon Service.
But it’s time for a facelift, and while we won’t change the levels of service, ambience and character of the place, there are exciting new plans ahead for this Hobart establishment.
