Dining in Hobart Tasmania

When you dine with us you enjoy all that sets Tasmania apart. Our waterside views are complimentary, our food and wine is of the quality that is exported to the world, and our staff are as affable as the friends beside you. Dining in Hobart - we do it well.

We don’t mind if you’re having the biggest celebration of the decade, or you’d like a quick bite before you head back for another round of Black Jack. At Wrest Point Tasmania we like to serve you in the pace and style that suits you.

There are plenty of restaurants in Hobart – we know this. But we also know that we are the only destination in Tasmania to offer a revolving restaurant towering over the River Derwent and that our collection of restaurants and bars are a stylish fit for a pre-show dinner or a smooth Tasmanian whisky to close out the night over good conversation.

Our Executive Chef André Kropp and his team will be pleased to provide you with a wonderful range of Tasmanian food offerings and seasonal menus using the best from local and  interstate producers.  André commenced at Wrest Point in July 2014 and during his 25-year career André has worked in a number of five-star establishments and is well recognised as a mentor to aspiring chefs.

 Cheese Master Class

6.30pm, Tuesday 28 July 2015

The French are undoubtedly the masters of class. Luxury is a part of the lifestyle, and the French understand indulgence in its finest form.

Discover how the French created over 400 cheeses, develop your ‘la connaissance de fromage’ (cheese knowledge) and spoil your palate with the indulgent rich and creamy flavours of years of French culinary heritage.

Join The Point’s Chef de Cuisine, Kent Sullivan along with Ian Fowler of Bay of Fires Cheese as they guide you through cooking with cheese, ‘why cheese and wine?’, cheese making and sweet cheeses.

Craftsman Ian Fowler’s family cheese making heritage is traced back to the 1600’s in England, with family cheese-making secrets being handed down through thirteen generations. That pedigree isn’t stopping Ian from making some very original boutique cheese - his speciality is cheddar style and all his handmade cheeses are crafted on Tasmania’s East Coast.

$65 per person includes four course guided French cheese master class
