free-gig Rum Jungle

Birdcage Bar – Friday 22 February

9.00pm – 1.00am

Rum Jungle is a duo performing classic songs from the 60’s up to present day hits. We pride ourselves on being a high quality, professional act for any occasion. With over 40 years combined experience in Tasmania and the mainland Rum Jungle brings a wealth of musical knowledge and passion to every live performance.

Tim Hibberd (lead vocals and guitar) began his career in the mid 80’s playing drums in ‘Complex Minds,’ ‘Clown House’ and ‘Total Fire Band’ but soon found singing and guitar fulfilled him more as an artist. In the early 90’s he became the lead singer and guitarist for the popular band the ‘Tin Men.’ After almost a decade of success with that band Tim moved on to playing solo.

In his extensive career he has played the following venues and events: Wrest Point Casino, Birdcage bar, Boardwalk bar and Blackjacks showroom, Moorilla Estate Winery supporting ‘Mental as Anything.’ A residency at Heron Island resort Whitsunday Islands and various hotels though out Western Australia and Melbourne. He has also performed at hundreds of Weddings and private functions both corporate and private. Tim’s soulful, powerful voice is the stand out feature of Rum Jungle.

Robbie Hanson (back up vocals and percussion) began his professional career in the late 80’s funnily enough playing drums for ‘Complex Minds’ after Tim exited the band. ‘Mr Friendly’ was formed in the 90’s and was very successful in Tasmania and Victoria. ‘Max loves 99’ was Robbie’s main cover band playing though out Melbourne. Rob’s career highlights include: The Channel Ten gala Christmas Ball with Bert Newton M.C. The Richmond Tigers best and fairest presentation night. Melbourne’s international Car show and support to Wendy Mathews. He has also performed at countless weddings, parties and private functions. Robbie brings his positive energy and groove to Rum Jungle.
