Tasmania and Hobart are fantastic places to visit whether for work, leisure or visiting friends and relatives and Wrest Point is a great place to base yourself for a Tasmanian or Hobart stay. Situated on the Derwent River waterfront in walking distance to central Hobart, Wrest Point offers the best of all things Tasmania. With lots of open space, you have access to some of the world’s freshest air and will be close to the waterfront to savour the smells and sights of the working Hobart port.
Tasmania is a great self-drive destination and Wrest Point has a large, secure car park which provides you with the opportunity to conveniently and safely base yourself. Comfortable accommodation incorporating fantastic waterfront and mountain views along with a raft of dining and entertainment options.
Wrest Point is conveniently located within close and simple proximity to some of Tasmania’s key attractions. A shuttle bus can take you directly to the famous Salamanca Market on Saturdays, you can depart our driveway and be at the top of Mount Wellington/kunanyi within a short drive (or even a run if you dare to take on the Point to Pinnacle) and we are a great day trip base for attractions such as Port Arthur Historic Site, the Huon Valley or the Coal Valley, dropping in at our famed cool-climate Tasmanian wineries. Home to Australia’s largest private art collection, the Museum of Old and New Art (MONA) is a short drive away, or you can opt to get there by boat from the Wrest Point marina if you prefer.
The team at Wrest Point take our role in the Tasmanian tourism industry very seriously. We are proud ambassadors of Tasmania and the Tasmanian tourism experience and we would be delighted to help you with your Tasmanian planning. Our Guest Services team would be only too happy to assist with your tour needs; while on the ground at Wrest Point, drop into our front desk and the team will be glad to help you sort out your Tasmanian holiday plans.
